Cornaro Chapel

This is an image of the Cornaro Chapel in Rome. It is an extravagant chapel, decorated with incredible statues and paintings. It was built from 1605 to 1620. It is somewhat incredible to me that churches are often some of the most beautiful buildings in the world. I feel that the church could use its money better to improve the lives of those around them than to build such extravagant but unnecessary wonders. To me it seems that the church wastes peoples tithes on aesthetics when they could be providing great benefit to their communities.
